Sweet Tobacco was not just our first fragrance. It was the first component we ever created, the cornerstone of 18.21. Before the bottles, before the branding, before the collection itself, there was this scent. The secret was in the blend, and everything else was built upon it.
At the time, the landscape of men’s grooming was crowded with minty scents. Safe, predictable, interchangeable. Sweet Tobacco broke that mold. It poured rich, spoke smooth, and shifted the conversation. A scent that felt deliberate and different, it inspired others to take notice, to experiment, even to imitate.
The inspiration? The quiet draw of a fine pipe. Tobacco leaf infused with honey and vanilla, mellowed into something smooth and enduring. That balance of sweetness and smoke, the kind that is both inviting and disarming. A scent that does not just appeal to memory, but creates it.
We layered the blend with bright citrus notes that spark the opening and fade to reveal a spicy, herbaceous lift from saffron, clove, and sage. It mellows into the sweet, boozy blend of dark toned vanilla, golden Manuka honey, and dried fruits, anchored by the powdery musk of tonka bean, amber, leather, and tobacco leaf.
